BRASOV is one of the largest and most cherished cities in the country.

The old city, founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1211, is one of the best preserved cities in all of Europe. Surrounded on three sides by mountains, it was a perfect place for a medieval settlement. Brasov also makes a fabulous base for exploring the surrounding countryside where the air is clean and the people friendly. A walking tour is always the best solution to really enjoy and feel the city.

This way you can visit: the Old Town including the Black Church and main square or Council Square (Piata Sfatului) and its medieval buildings in different architectural styles. Everything is situated around the main square: the pedestrian-only Republicii street, the Black Church, former Council House, indoor and outdoor terraces and restaurants, Muresenilor House, the Schei Gate and the Ecaterina Gate, the hidden Dupa Ziduri (Beyond the Walls) street and the old city towers.
Make sore you don’t miss Strada Sforii (Rope Street), the narrowest street in Europe, around 1.3 metres (4 ft) wide.

You can have a beautiful view of the old city and the surrounding nature from Panoramic Tampa, the 900 meters above sea-level hill. You can take the cable lift (program here).

You can also rent a bike, free for 2 hours, from the Main Square or the City Hall station.
